13 December 2011 – Short movie „Prisoners of Conscience in Belarus“

One year after the 2010 Belarusian presidential elections Libereco – Partnership for Human Rights and Amnesty International release a short movie „Prisoners of conscience in Belarus“, directed by German filmmaker Sebastian Heinzel.

After demonstrations against unfair presidential elections in Belarus on 19th December 2010 many leading opposition activits have been sentenced to long prison terms. This film shows the case of Alexander Atroshenkov, press secretary of presidential candidate Andrej Sannikov.

The film includes statements by members of German Bundestag Christoph Strässer, who has taken on a prisoner’s godparenthood for Alexander Atroshenkov, and Marieluise Beck, who campaigns for the release of Andrej Sannikov in the framework of a prisoner’s godparenthood.
