25. September 2011 – List of political prisoners, accused and unlawfully convicted in Belarus (Updated)

Based on informations received by Libereco 25 people are detained for political reasons in Belarus, 11 people are unlawfully convicted and have received suspended sentences, 7 people are unlawfully accused at the moment. In Mid-August 9 political prisoners were released, 4 in early September and 11 more in mid September.

 

List of political prisoners, accused and unlawfully convicted in Belarus

(updated on 16 August 2011, based on information by Human Rights Center Viasna, Belarusian Helsinki Committee, Belarusian Human Rights House and The Committee for Defense of the Repressed “Salidarnasc”: 9 prisoners were released on 11 August: Dzmitry Drozd, Artsiom Hrybkou, Siarhei Kazakou, Uladzimir Khamichenka, Ales Kviatkevich, Vital Matsukevich, Vasil Parfiankou, Yauhen Sakret and Uladzimir Yaromenak)

(updated on 12 September 2011, based on information by Human Rights Center Viasna, that 4 political prisoners - Aleh Hnedchyk, Ales Kirkevich, Andrei Pratasenia and Zmitser Daronin - were released under parole by Lukashenko on 4 September)
