Nach Libereco vorliegenden Informationen sind in Belarus ca. 46 Menschen weiterhin aus politischen Gründen inhaftiert, 15 weitere Personen dürfen das Land nicht verlassen. Allen Inhaftierten, Angeklagten und Verdächtigen drohen langjährige Haftstrafen.
Der frühere Präsidentschaftskandidat Uladzimir Niakliayeu und die prominente Journalistin Iryna Khalip, die Ehefrau eines weiteren Ex-Kandidaten, Andrei Sannikau, wurden am 29. Januar 2010 aus dem KGB-Gefängnis entlassen und unter Hausarrest gestellt.
Berichten zufolge wurden Aleh Korban, ein Anführer der Jungen Demokraten, Anatol Paulau, ein Aktivist aus dem Team des früheren Präsidentschaftskandidaten Yaraslau Ramanchuk, und Siarhei Vazniak, ein Aktivist aus dem Team von Uladzimir Niakliayeu, aus dem Gefängnis entlassen. In den Tagen zuvor wurden Natallia Radzina, Redakteurin von charter97.org, und Uladzimir Kobets, Leiter des Wahlkampfteams von Andrei Sannikau, freigelassen.
Alyaksandr Kirkevich, ein Aktivist der Jungen Front wurde am 28. Januar in Gomel inhaftiert und anschliessend ins KGB-Gefängnis in Minsk überstellt. Er ist möglicherweise ein weiterer Angeklagter oder Verdächtiger im „Massenunruhen“-Fall.
