Since 2018, we have been supporting children, the elderly, the sick and people with disabilities with an Emergency Relief Fund in Eastern Ukraine. We are now continuing this fast, individual and need-oriented help!
Since the beginning of the war in 2014, we have travelled to Ukraine regularly. During our visits to the east of the country, most recently in early December, we have seen that the humanitarian situation of the people living there is still very difficult – even though the shelling has subsided a bit since this summer.
Unemployment and poverty in particular have a firm grip on rural areas. Access to medical care and medicines is a major problem in the frontline area. People bear the heavy consequences of injuries, traumas and the loss of family members. Children and teenagers continue to grow up in an environment of insecurity, fear and stress. Disabled people do not receive adequate support.
This is why last year we created an Emergency Relief Fund together with our Ukrainian partner organisation Vostok SOS. Over the past year, we were able to provide targeted support to children, the elderly, the sick and people with disabilities. We are now continuing this fast, individual and need-based help!
Through Vostok SOS’s telephone hotline in the conflict area people are still reporting daily problems which cannot be solved by state aid alone. Our Emergency Relief Fund concentrates on the Luhansk region, where most places have poor infrastructure and are difficult to reach.
Your donation enables us to alleviate some of the distress in the conflict zone in East Ukraine. We at Libereco – Partnership for Human Rights are all volunteers. Your donations will therefore for 100 percent reach the people in need!
